Ecoforest strengthens the offer of highly-efficient R290 heat pumps

Ecoforest will present the complete range of air-source and ground-source heat pumps with natural refrigerant R290 at stand N41 & P42 in hall 3 of Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE). In 2023 Ecoforest presented its new equipment with R290, a refrigerant with a low global warming index (GWP) that has established itself as the future in the HVAC sector compared to conventional refrigerants.

Ground-source heat pumps with R290

In 2020 Ecoforest became the first manufacturer to have a geothermal or water-to-water pump with propane: ecoGEO+ 1-6 PRO. This heat pump is the right equipment for small areas or houses with high insulation that allow them to have a very low energy demand. At MCE, Ecoforest will present two new ground-source or geothermal heat pumps with R290:

Air-source heat pumps with natural refrigerant R290

With the widest range of air-source heat pumps with R290 refrigerant, Ecoforest equipment can meet demands from 1 kW to 28 kW. The use of the natural refrigerant R290 in these units has enabled highly efficient heat pumps, capable of producing water at 75ºC, and suitable for refurbishment projects that keep radiators as the emission system. At MCE, Ecoforest will present a new monobloc air-to-water heat pump capable of delivering up to 28 kW and meeting the highest demands with all the advantages of natural refrigerant.

Tailored air-source installations

Ecoforest has two solutions to improve the adaptation of air-source heat pumps to installations with both very low and very high demands. For installations with low energy demand, the CM Lite is a new indoor module for air-source heat pump systems that maintains the advantages of the Ecoforest software with a considerable reduction in costs and simplifying the installation. On the other hand, high demands can rely on a cascade solution with Ecoforest’s air-source heat pump installations: up to six units can be installed with a single indoor unit and a simple and quick installation system.

Photovoltaic hybridisation

All Ecoforest heat pumps include photovoltaic hybridisation as a standard to make the most of photovoltaic surplus management. Ecoforest’s management software makes it possible to obtain the maximum efficiency in any given installation by turning the photovoltaic surplus into thermal energy. This allows the setpoint temperatures to be increased for free. With this solutions, the heat pump system contributes to net-zero houses.

Ecoforest, the Spanish heat pump manufacturer

Ecoforest launched its first geothermal heat pump on the market. Today, it has a complete range of aerothermal systems with natural refrigerant and a wide range of geothermal heat pumps.
