Air-source heat pump for domestic and commercial installations with Inverter technology and natural refrigerant R290

In 2021 Ecoforest launched the widest range of air-source or air-to-air heat pumps with R290 covering the needs of installations up to 20 kW. In September 2024 Ecoforest launched the new ecoAIR⁺ 6 -24 PRO air-source heat pump which extends the power limit up to 144 kW in its cascade configuration. In addition, by including natural refrigerant, the ecoAIR⁺ 6-24 PRO units offer the following advantages:

• Refrigerant of the future: the natural refrigerant R290 has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) 700 times lower than that of synthetic refrigerants, which is why it has positioned itself as the European Union’s future option.
• Versatility: heating flow temperature up to 70ºC which allows the replacement of boilers in installations with radiators. 
• Cascade configuration of up to 6 units that multiply the power up to 144 kW.

All ecoAIR⁺ PRO units feature Ecoforest’s characteristic efficiency and PV hybridisation. Ecoforest’s exclusive management software allows the heat pump to adapt to the needs of the installation, resulting in greater efficiency. 

In the case of installations with PVs, heat pumps complement perfectly with photovoltaic production to achieve high rates of self-consumption by storing the photovoltaic surplus as thermal energy. 

Cascade configuration

The ecoAIR⁺ 6-24 PRO air-source heat pumps can be installed in cascades of up to 6 units with a single indoor unit, which saves cost and installation time. The common management system and modulation from the lowest powers increases the lifetime of the compressors and allows modulation up to 144 kW power.
