WHAT IS A
HEAT PUMP?

The heat pump is a heating system that provides heating in winter, cooling in summer and Domestic Hot Water (DHW) throughout the year. The heat pump is powered by two external energy sources, on the one hand, the energy of the earth (geothermal or ground source) and, on the other hand, the energy of the ambient air (aerothermal or air source). Both energies are renewable, ecological and natural.

The operation of the heat pump is based on thermodynamics, i.e. it manages to transport energy in the form of heat from the earth and air to the rooms of the house where it is installed.

The main characteristic of the heat pump is its high efficiency. This heating system is capable of generating up to 5 times more energy than it needs to operate. For this reason, it is currently the most efficient system on the market.

Another of its advantages is that it is an environmentally friendly system that uses renewable energy sources and hardly emits CO2. In addition, it is a much more economical system than conventional ones. The use of heat pumps reduces energy consumption in homes and, consequently, lowers the cost of the energy bill. In addition, heat pumps are a safe and durable heating system, which does not require regular servicing and is very easy to maintain. A heat pump has a useful life of about 25 years.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Heat pumps are the most efficient air conditioning system on the market today. This system can generate up to five times more energy than it needs to operate. One of the ways to measure the performance of a machine is by checking its COP, that is, its coefficient of performance at a given time. Heat pumps have COPs of between 3 and 5, i.e., for every 1kW they consume, they are capable of generating from 3kW to 5kW of thermal energy. Another way of measuring efficiency, which is more accurate and also reflects the high efficiency of heat pumps, is the SPF, i.e. the seasonal performance of a heat pump or, in other words, the average coefficient of performance in a year.

HEAT PUMPS: ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY HEATING SYSTEM

The heat pump is one of the most environmentally friendly heating systems on the market today. This is due, among other things, to the fact that it uses natural energy sources; the earth, air and water. The aerothermal pump uses the ambient air to operate and the geothermal pump extracts the energy from the heat of the subsoil. Both use these natural energies that are found in all parts of the world and are inexhaustible to provide a comprehensive air conditioning system.

HEAT PUMPS: ECONOMICAL HEATING SYSTEM

The heat pump is a very economical heating system that can considerably reduce the energy consumption of your home or office. It is a heating system that draws its energy from natural, totally free and renewable sources. In addition, it uses hardly any electrical energy to operate, which helps to save up to 80% on your electricity bill.

DURABILITY

Heat pumps are a very safe and durable air conditioning system. In addition, they do not require continuous checks and their maintenance is very simple, as it is a safe structure that does not involve risks, as it does not produce combustion, fumes or dirt.

Both use these natural energies, which are found all over the world and are inexhaustible, to provide a comprehensive air-conditioning system..

Another of its ecological advantages is that it hardly emits any CO2 and, although it uses electricity to operate, its consumption is really low. And it is for this reason that both Spain and the rest of the European Union are committed to this type of equipment to meet their goal of reducing CO2 emissions in their intention to curb global warming and put an end to climate change.

The heat pump also stands out as an efficient system, with a high performance, using as little energy as possible. The heat pump is capable of producing up to 5 times more energy than it needs to operate.

In this regard, Ecoforest has developed heat pumps that are highly efficient, thanks to IVI technology, which guarantees high performance in places with extreme temperatures. In addition, its Inverter compressor means that the heat pump is able to adapt its operation to the needs of the home where it is installed.

For these reasons, they have become an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional heating systems such as natural gas or oil, which are much more polluting and costly.

HEAT PUMPS: ECONOMICAL HEATING SYSTEM

The heat pump is a very economical heating system that can considerably reduce the energy consumption of your home or office.

It is a heating system that draws its energy from natural, totally free and renewable sources. In addition, it uses hardly any electricity to operate, which helps to save up to 80% on electricity bills.

We know that the price of installation is higher than that of conventional heating systems, but you will be able to recover this investment in less than two years thanks to the great savings in electricity. In the long run, you will see that the savings are substantial compared to gas and oil boilers.

In general, all heat pumps are substantially cheaper than conventional systems. However, it is worth highlighting the advantages of split type heat pumps, as they allow you to heat only the rooms that are cold, which favours a better use of energy, prevents you from wasting it and reduces costs.

TYPES OF
HEAT PUMP

Heat pumps are an integral air-conditioning system that extract energy from natural resources, such as the earth, air and water, to generate heat, cooling and domestic hot water (DHW) all year round.

There are two types of heat pumps: ground source heat pumps and air source heat pumps. The difference between ground source heat pumps and air source heat pumps is that ground source heat pumps extract energy from the ground and air source heat pumps extract energy from the ambient air.

Both work on the principle of thermodynamics; for heating, they transport heat from the ground or ambient air into the house, and for cooling, they extract heat from inside the house and transport it to the outside of the house. The common advantages of these air conditioning systems are their higth efficiency, environmental friendliness and low cost.

What is a heat pump?

GROUND SOURCE HEAT PUMS

WHAT IS IT?

The geothermal heat pump is an integrated air-conditioning system that extracts energy from the earth and water to provide cooling in summer, heating in winter and domestic hot water (DHW) all year round.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Geothermal pumps move heat from the ground to the house in winter to provide heat in winter and in reverse to provide cooling in summer.

HOW TO INSTALL IT?

Geothermal pump installations consist of three parts: the collector, the generator and the emitting elements (radiators or underfloor heating). To install a geothermal heat pump, you must have enough space to be able to build the collector, which is the set of pipes that are installed underground and connected to the generator.
The installation of geothermal energy in new buildings is simpler and you do not need extra land, as the pipes can be installed underneath the house.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Ground source heat pumps are a highly efficient and durable heating system. In addition, they are easy to maintain and do not require regular servicing. The initial investment is high, but it pays off in the long run, as it uses hardly any electricity. Its energy source is the earth, a renewable, inexhaustible and totally free energy.
In addition, heat pumps do not make noise and take up very little space in the home.

What is a heat pump?

AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMPS

WHAT IS IT?

The aerothermal heat pump is an integral air conditioning system that extracts the energy stored in the ambient air to provide heating in winter, cooling in summer and Domestic Hot Water (DHW) all year round.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The aerothermal pump generates heating in winter and cooling in summer thanks to the exchange of heat with the outside. To heat the house, it extracts heat from the outside and brings it inside, and to cool it, it transports the heat from the inside to the outside.

HOW TO INSTALL IT?

The installation of Ecofotest aerothermal heat pumps is very simple thanks to the new compact designs.
An aerothermal system consists mainly of an external module connected to an internal module that transports the heat through ducts that reach the radiators or underfloor heating in your home or premises.
It is important to choose where to place the external module, reducing the distance to the interior as much as possible and trying to perforate the walls as little as possible. The outdoor module should be installed in a well-ventilated place, preferably outdoors.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Aerothermal pumps are ecological air conditioning systems that use a natural, renewable energy source and emit hardly any CO₂. In addition, they are highly efficient and very economical systems, with aerothermal energy you can save up to 80% on your electricity bill.
In addition, aerothermal machines do not take up much space, are very easy to maintain and do not require periodic checks.
