Both events are conceived as a <strong>platform for dialogue<\/strong> and <strong>knowledge transfer<\/strong> for <strong>architects<\/strong>, <strong>engineering firms<\/strong>,<strong> construction companies<\/strong> and construction-sector professionals interested in exploring <strong>sustainability as applied in professional practice<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sustainability from different perspectives<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event will feature <strong>Iago Bastos<\/strong>, Business Development Director at Ecoforest; <strong>Iv\u00e1n Andr\u00e9s Quintela<\/strong>, founding partner of Arrokabe Arquitectos; architect <strong>Luc\u00eda Escrigas<\/strong> of Fundaci\u00f3n RIA; and the <strong>Finsa architecture team<\/strong>, in a session that will open up new perspectives on the role of sustainability in the design and development of buildings. His presentation will show how solutions already available are transforming the energy performance of new buildings and renovated properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Ecoforest, sustainability is understood as a <strong>combination of technological innovation and manufacturing<\/strong>. For decades, the Galician company has developed renewable heating and cooling solutions to reduce energy consumption and minimize the environmental impact of buildings, helping to accelerate the transition toward a <strong>more efficient and better-prepared building stock <\/strong>in the face of today\u2019s <strong>climate challenges<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the architecture team at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.finsa.com\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.finsa.com\/es\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Finsa<\/a> <\/strong>will offer a materials perspective, showing how <strong>wood<\/strong> is becoming a <strong>strategic alternative <\/strong>in contemporary architecture because of its ability to <strong>reduce environmental impact<\/strong> and <strong>improve efficiency<\/strong> in both <strong>finishes<\/strong> and the<strong> structure of buildings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For years, the Galician company has championed the <strong>local wood value chain<\/strong> through various initiatives. Projects such as <a href=\"https:\/\/veta.gal\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/veta.gal\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">veta.gal<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/evolta-recicla.gal\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/evolta-recicla.gal\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">evolta-recicla.gal<\/a> highlight the<strong> life cycle of wood<\/strong> and its potential to advance <strong>circular models<\/strong>. Alongside these is <strong>A Panda da D\u00e1<\/strong>, a living laboratory for sustainable forest management that demonstrates how innovation, the region and industry can work together toward more responsible management of natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Architect <strong>Iv\u00e1n Andr\u00e9s Quintela<\/strong>, co-founder of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arrokabe.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Arrokabe Arquitectos<\/a><\/strong>, will bring to the forum the experience of one of Galicia\u2019s most highly regarded practices in <strong>contemporary architecture<\/strong> and <strong>heritage restoration<\/strong>. His work stands out for its deep connection to place, materiality and the identity of spaces, combining <strong>building traditions and innovation<\/strong> with a particular sensitivity to context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Arrokabe Arquitectos, the team advocates an approach to architecture that begins with attention to what already exists, both materially and culturally, building a distinctive design language grounded in the specific qualities of each place and exploring the <strong>expressive potential of materials <\/strong>and the<strong> construction techniques<\/strong> best suited to each project. The practice has undertaken major projects, from coordinating and overseeing <strong>restoration work at Santiago Cathedral<\/strong> to <strong>developing modular timber construction systems<\/strong>, establishing an architectural practice in which heritage, sustainability and innovation advance together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Representing <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fundacionria.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fundaci\u00f3n RIA<\/a><\/strong>, the event will also feature its director, <strong>Manuel Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, who will moderate the session, as well as architect <strong>Luc\u00eda Escribas<\/strong>. Their participation will reinforce the foundation\u2019s role in promoting new ways of thinking about and shaping the region through sustainability, research and applied innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founded by architect David Chipperfield in 2017, Fundaci\u00f3n RIA is an independent nonprofit organization focused on the <strong>sustainable development<\/strong> of <strong>Galicia\u2019s built and natural environment<\/strong>. Through interdisciplinary studies, pilot projects and territorial strategies, the organization <strong>connects global challenges with local contexts<\/strong>, working with public authorities, communities, economic sectors and academic institutions.
